Kevenz: Eco-Friendly Solutions For Protecting Your Family Against Gopher, Squirrels & Mice

Our Story: From a Devastated Garden to Taking It Back

ur Story: From a Devastated Garden to Taking It Back

My garden was destroyed by gophers and squirrels, again and again. Newly planted fruit trees died for no apparent reason. Overnight, a whole tree full of ripe fruit was completely ruined…

Hi everyone, I'm Jaybo, founder of Kevenz. I know firsthand how much trouble these little pests can bring to a home—because my family and I have been through it.

In 2021, we moved to Los Angeles and bought a house with a large yard. We built a garden and a small orchard. My wife and the kids planted lots of flowers, and she also planted more than 30 fruit trees. Everything went smoothly at first—until problems quietly appeared, and within a few weeks, things got much worse.

It wasn't just gophers and squirrels. Rats started getting into the house. Our garden slowly began to disappear. And huge mounds of soil kept popping up all over the lawn.

I knew it was moles and deer destroying all the time, effort, and money we had poured into our home. With my background in ecology, I also knew a harder truth: most sprays and repellents on the market contain harmful chemicals.

I didn't want to pay a fortune every few months for professional pest control—that would be an endless expense. As a father and husband who cares about my family's safety and wants to have a beautiful home, I decided to find a better solution myself.

Over the next several years, I studied gopher behavior in depth. I used an underground borescope to go inside their tunnels and observed them day after day. I discovered they are actually very curious—and that curiosity became the key to catching them.

At first, I was misled by many academic papers. I tried carbon dioxide, traps, and other methods—all failed. Over five years, I designed and built more than 200 different devices and prototypes. Every single one failed. The gophers just buried them with dirt.

My wife said, "Let's compromise."

But with an engineering background, I chose to fight to the end. I spent days on end crouching by gopher holes, with my computer connected to a camera deep inside their tunnels. I would stay for 15 hours straight. I watched them repair tunnels, dig new openings, gather and store food, and raise their young. I also saw, again and again, how they outsmarted my devices.

I put leg bands on live-trapped gophers. To my surprise, I found that a gopher would show up inside another gopher's tunnel—and this happened often. That completely overturned the widely accepted academic belief that gophers have strong territorial instincts.

December 15, 2025 — that was the day we caught a gopher face to face for the first time. No more watching through a screen.

We launched the world's first and only smart gopher trapping device. This patented technology features:

Fully automatic winding

Automatic release

Continuous catch-and-reset

When a gopher is caught, the device automatically resets. The gopher retreats back into its tunnel and dies there. Why? Because we discovered that as long as a dead gopher remains in a tunnel, no new gopher will enter that same tunnel for a very long time. This eliminates the hassle of manual disposal and extends the trapping effect indefinitely.

We then applied our core technology to devices for gophers, squirrels, and rats—and achieved tremendous success with all of them.

Now, our home is completely free of these pests. No more mounds in the garden, vegetable patch, or orchard. No more fruit trees stripped bare by squirrels overnight. No more rustling sounds of rats raising their young inside the house or garage.

My family can finally enjoy our garden, our backyard, and our home—without being bothered by animals ever again.

Let's take back your yard and garden together.

Best,
Jaybo
